Whispers for an Upside-Down World
We live in an unbalanced world, a world we have turned upside down. It’s world that no longer truly works for any of us, whether we walk on two legs, four legs or none at all.
To find a sense of balance in myself I go into nature, and the more deeply I immerse myself the more at peace I feel. My favorite companions on those outings are birds, the ingenious builders of the coolest homes on this planet. Their nests evoke hope, renewal, belonging, and each one is evidence of the remarkable intelligence and ingenuity of the animals who build them. The fragile impermanence of nests hides their true strength; pieces may fall off, yet the structure remains sound.
These paintings and the nests in them are my gift to our upside-down world, created with hope for the well-being of all of us who share this home.
